Thanks, Alfred.
I googled and got an even earlier ubuntu link which was inconclusive. I
emailed a link to the Sibelius site to my friend and told her that I would
ask our mailing list for comments on the cross-over procedure if she bought
a Windows laptop. She wrote back that the fellow she was talking to at Tom
Lee Music advised her to buy a Mac laptop but she didn't know it was because
the application was not written for Linux until I told her. She is running
Linux Mint on her desktop because of frequent Windows crashing and had a
friend who works at one of the computer companies here install Mint for
her. She requires a laptop to hook up to her piano so she can print out
her music and has decided to purchase a Mac laptop for this purpose. I also
sent her a link to our Web site and invited her and her computer technician
to check us out at the next meeting.
