Back in the day I hated Evolution - too big, bulky and too MS-like. So I
started using Thunderbird, and I loved it until now. The version that
ships with Ubuntu 10.04 has been a nightmare for me. They've changed
from POP3 to IMAP, and unbeknownst to me, didn't dump the messages off
the server when I downloaded them. Apparently there's a way of deleting
entities and starting over as POP3, but I didn't feel like doing the
work. So I tried Claws for a while. It was simple (too simple, really)
and I couldn't for the life of me get the spam filtering to work.
Don't hit me. I installed the default Evolution. I know. Mono and all
that, but it seems to have matured to the point that it looks good and
works. I still have to train it with junk mail, but so far so good. I
must say e-mails sent from Outlook and Express look more like they were
intended.
