Hi all,
I have an old D-Link router Model DI-524 H/W ver A1 F/W ver 1.20. It
belonged to a neighbour, but it wasn't working very well, so he got a new
one and I inherited this one. For me, I can get into the router, but I
can't get through the router to web. I thought that I would put fresh
firmware on it to resusitate it. D-Link doesn't have firmware for it on
their site....too old. So I looked for open-source firmware for it.
dd-wrt says "not possible" but I see possiblities that other sources might
exist for firmware. Also that different brands of routers are actually the
same as this one. I'm just fooling around with this router for the heck of
it, so there is no importance really associated with solving this problem.
However if anyone has thoughts or knowledge about other reliable sources of
firmware for this, I would like to know about it. I am afraid of putting
some unsuitable firmware on the router and bricking it.
Ed
