Welcome to the Parksville-Qualicum Linux Users Group

The Parksville Qualicum Linux Users Group is a community of Linux users of differing skill levels and areas of expertise from people new to Linux to those who run their entire business on Linux.

The goal of the PQLUG is to work with the community to develop Linux skills both at home and in business. We have both a verbose, customized mailing list and a mailman listserver mailing list and can provide support for users migrating to or starting with Linux. By using this more open process, we support an operating system that uses free software development practices that many find more appealing than proprietary software.

This site is a virtual meeting place for those interested in GNU/Linux & Open Source Software (OSS) in the Oceanside area of Vancouver Island? British Columbia? Canada?.

If you'd like to register and join us, please see this page. Of course you can always view the site without logging in.

Meeting are usually held at 6:30 PM on the third Tuesday of each month at the A&W on the East Island Highway in Parksville. If you plan to come, please use this Doodle Poll to indicate your attendance. (The Poll only extends to the end of 2018; a new Poll will be created for 2019.) Newcomers are welcome!

The meeting on Dec 18, 2018 will be held at Jess Brewer's home instead of the A&W.

You can peruse the mailman archive for old messages.

Bring a laptop/Android device/Chromebook and a friend! If you don't have a laptop, this is Linux, we share! If you don't have a friend, we supply those at the meetings.
