Welcome to the Parksville-Qualicum Linux Users Group

This site exists to promote GNU/Linux & Open Source Software (OSS) in the Oceanside area. It is also a meeting place for those interested in GNU/Linux.

Here you can share your knowledge about GNU/Linux and Open Source Software. The site is designed around a wiki, which means that it needs user input to grow. Any registered user can edit just about any page on this site including this home page! So, for example, if you come up with a logo we can use add it in here. Or find something that can be improved, whether content, grammar or formatting, and make it better. Add pictures, links to other sources of information, or add a whole new page!

To get started, just use the "Register" button on the right, then you can login and start editing. How? Take a look at Tikiwiki for Smarties. Of course you can always view the data without logging in.

Meeting place, day, and dates

Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, 17 September 2009 in the Oceanside Community Arts Council building--elderly, white schoolhouse at 133 McMillan St., Parksville (Google Map). From 7 to 10 pm. Bring a friend!

Donation toward rental fee appreciated. Bring a laptop if you like. A lesson regarding some software application, or hardware, will be presented at most meetings. Wheelchair accessible. For more information, please see the Meetings forum.
